As your Adelaide Marriage Celebrant I organise the following for you; Let’s meet! We organise a meeting place that’s convenient to you. If you feel we’re a good match for each other we lock in the date and start filling in paperwork. First legal document called the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) must be lodged with me no later than one month prior to the ceremony. To fill this out, we will need – Either a passport or original birth certificate – Photo identification with your current address (i.e. licence) Let’s create your wedding- I will provide you extensive samples of wedding vows to use as inspiration to create your own vows or finding the words that best describe your commitment to each other. Let’s get married- as your Adelaide Marriage Celebrant my job is to arrive early, calm nerves, organise the guests to ensure easy access for the stars of the show and deliver the ceremony that demonstrates your love and devotion. Completion of all legal paperwork and lodgement with the relevant authorities on your behalf. Ceremonies are a time-honoured tradition and people love to gather to celebrate. Whether a couple cannot marry for legal (thank goodness this is no longer the case in Australia), cultural or other reasons – everyone deserves a ceremony, so let’s celebrate! You may write your own vows or choose some of mine. I will help you design a beautiful, personal commitment for you both. Your lifetime commitment can be as traditional or contemporary as you like – it can still incorporate readings, vows, exchange of rings and special ceremonies that reflect your true commitment to each other. There is no legal paperwork, but I will provide you with a beautiful keepsake certificate that will be just as precious, and just as meaningful to you. The difference between a commitment ceremony and a wedding is very little. The ceremony itself is much the same, except there are no legal components. It is not registered with Births, Deaths & Marriages (BDM) and it is therefore not a marriage by law.
